At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavík, kicking off a full day of exploring Iceland's incredible natural landscapes.
Our first stop is Lake Kleifarvatn, a serene oasis nestled in the heart of a volcanic landscape. Surrounded by rugged hills and ancient lava fields, this vast lake boasts an almost otherworldly beauty. As we soak in the views, our guide will share stories about the fascinating geological history of the area, giving us an insight into Iceland’s volcanic origins.
Next, we'll head to the Seltún Geothermal Area, where the power of the Earth comes alive! Here, we'll witness bubbling mud pots, steaming vents, and colourful mineral deposits creating a surreal landscape that feels like another planet. It's a rare chance to see the forces that have shaped Iceland for millennia.
Afterwards, we'll stop at a greenhouse in the town of Hveragerði, where you can grab a bite to eat. This charming spot is renowned for its sustainable horticulture, powered by the region's geothermal energy. You'll be spoiled for options to enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared meal made from locally grown ingredients.
Feeling refuelled and ready for the next adventure, we'll set off on a hike through the Reykjadalur Valley, or "Steam Valley". Along the hike to this hidden gem, we'll follow scenic trails lined with rolling hills and steaming geothermal vents. At the end of the hike, we'll reach the natural hot springs, where we can relax in the warm waters, surrounded by the beauty of untouched nature—the perfect way to unwind after the hike!
As the day draws to a close, we'll make our way back to Reykjavík, dropping you back to your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
