Immerse yourself in the rugged natural landscapes of Iceland's famed Golden Circle on this day trip from Reykjavík. Discover the Strokkur Geyser, the magnificent Gullfoss Waterfall, and go horse riding!
At the designated time, you'll be picked up from your selected pickup point, or we'll meet at the Reykjavík bus terminal. Ready for an exciting horseback ride while touring Iceland's popular Golden Circle?
First, we'll board a bus and drive to the Eldhestar riding center, located just outside Hveragerði, where our Icelandic horses, known for their sturdiness and easy temperament, will be waiting for us. We'll ride for a total of 1.5-2 hours, and during this time, you'll take in some of the stunning natural landscapes surrounding us. Afterward, we'll enjoy a light lunch at the Vellir farm, consisting of soup and bread.
From there, we'll continue our journey to Geysir, a vast geothermal area where we'll see Strokkur, a breathtaking geyser that erupts boiling water up to 65 ft (20 m) into the air! Did you know that these impressive natural hot springs are so important that the English word for geyser comes from this particular area of Iceland?
We'll also visit the spectacular Gullfoss, or Golden Falls. This spectacular waterfall is located in an enormous canyon on the Hvítá River. Its beauty will leave you speechless! Then, we'll visit the stunning Thingvellir National Park, known for its amazing geology and history.
After discovering these Icelandic sites, we'll start our journey back to Reykjavík by bus, where we'll arrive 9.5 hours later.
