We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barahona and kick off our day trip to the Larimar Mines. Unearthed in 1974, this semiprecious gemstone mine is the only place on earth where you can find this gem.
In a 4x4 vehicle, we'll climb the Bahoruco mountain range for about an hour before reaching the mines where the turquoise gemstone is extracted. Legend has it; whoever possesses this semiprecious stone can live their life worry and hassle-free!
As we tour the grounds of the mines, we'll visit a larimar workshop where artisans process the gemstone right in their own backyards. Here is the perfect opportunity to find a souvenir for home!
Then, we'll head to Paraiso Beach where we'll sit down to a delicious traditional lunch as we enjoy the beautiful seascape in front of us. With a satiated appetite, we'll leave you some free time to enjoy the beach before we return to Barahona.
Lastly, we'll bring you back to your hotel, dropping you off about 4 hours after pickup.
