We'll collect you from your hotel in Barahona at the scheduled time and from there, we'll make our way towards Balneario La Plaza. Ready to discover some of the most crystal-clear rivers in the Dominican Republic? Say no more!
After a journey of around 45 minutes, we'll arrive at Balneario La Plaza. There, we'll receive a brief chat about the trail and security measures as we make our way towards the starting point of the tour. We'll walk along the banks of the river, discovering evermore blue pools.
During the first section, we'll see the flowers and vegetation that run alongside the river, including the majestic possumwood and cabrima trees. We'll also have the chance to spot some local birds such as the cacique candela, the vireo bigotudo and different animals that also call this place home.
An hour later, we'll finally arrive at the spectacular natural pools at Balneario La Plaza. Here, you'll have the chance to enjoy a refreshing dip at the waterfalls and if you're feeling adventurous, you can explore the mouth of the Cañada de Deguindadero. Here, we'll take a short break so you can have a small snack.
After enjoying the beauty of La Plaza, we'll begin our return journey along the same path, enjoying the natural beauty and the wildlife all over again.
Finally, we'll arrive at the starting point after 4 hours together where we'll bring this tour to an end at the hotels in Barahona
