Day Trip to Los Tres Ojos & Socoa Falls
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Monumento Ruinas of the Monasterio de San Francisco, and embark on a day trip that will take us to visit two truly magical places: Socoa Falls and Los Tres Ojos await!
First, and then we'll head towards the Salto de Socoa, a beautiful waterfall hidden in Monte Plata, the greenest province in the Dominican Republic. Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a delicious Dominican coffee prepared according to the island's tradition.
Next, we'll set off walking until we reach this majestic 20 m (65 ft) waterfall. While admiring the Salto de Socoa, you can take a refreshing swim in its natural pool. Are you hungry? Don't worry, because we'll have a cook with us who will prepare a Dominican charcoal lunch, a technique that has been used since the early twentieth century.
After eating, we'll walk back through the Dominican jungle and hop on the minibus to the second part of the excursion. We'll head for the Los Tres Ojos cave, a surprising place full of legends. Inside we'll learn all about the Taino Indians, who used this cave as a sacred place.
Finally, after six hours of adventure, we'll drop you back off at the starting point in Santo Domingo.
