Santo Domingo Food Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet in Arturo Bautista Pellerano Castro Square, known as Parque Rosa. From here, we'll start a walking tour through the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Are you ready to taste the most traditional flavors of the Dominican capital?

First of all, we’ll head to a local restaurant, where we’ll begin to discover Dominican cuisine. Here we’ll learn, in the best possible way, all about the day-to-day running of their kitchens, the most commonly used ingredients and the variety of dishes found on Dominican tables depending on the season.

Afterwards, we’ll head to a local shop selling sweets, drinks and produce from different regions of the Dominican Republic. We’ll be able to sample some of these delicacies, learn all about their ingredients and the traditional customs of each part of the country.

Throughout the walking tour, we’ll also explore the most iconic places in the city, such as the Panteón de la Patria or the Catedral Primada de America, we'll tell you all about the traditional dishes of Santo Domingo. For example, are you familiar with quipe? It's a delicious pastry of Lebanese origin that arrived on the island along with the immigrants who settled in the south of the Dominican Republic.

What's more, we'll have a selection of seasonal fruits and other sweets. Not only that, but we'll also walk to Santo Domingo's Chinatown to indulge in its most famous recipes - how about a delicious Chinese steamed bun?

And, naturally, we'll visit the Mercado Modelo, the largest in the city, and see other places such as the Museo Casa de Tostado, the Parque de la Independencia, or Little Haiti. Before we finish the tour, we'll arrive at Isabel La Católica Street, where we'll enjoy a Dominican beer. Cheers!

Lastly, 3 hours later, we’ll finish the tour at a central spot in the Colonial City.
