On this jeep tour through the Westfjords, we'll take you to the cliffs of Látrabjarg and the iconic beach of Raudasandur. We'll have a great ride on the winding Icelandic roads.
Látrabjarg & Raudasandur Jeep Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet at Þórsgata Street in Patreksfjordur and board an off-road jeep. Looking forward to seeing the cliffs of Látrabjarg and its famous inhabitants? The puffins await us!
We'll leave Patreksfjordur and cross the Keflavík desert, from where we'll enjoy breathtaking views of Rauðasandur, Breiðavík, and Látravík. The drive will be a lot of fun! On our way to the westernmost point of Iceland along the Atlantic coast, we'll learn about the most fascinating stories that have taken place at the edge of these gorges.
As we continue to ride in the jeep, we'll see Hænuvík and the grand opening of the two most important fjords in the area, Patreksfjörður and Tálknafjörður. Another place that will catch your eye will be the famous Rausadandur beach, whose reddish sand has made it one of the most striking landscapes of the West Fjords. Here you'll have half an hour of free time and you can take the opportunity to have lunch.
Then, when we reach the cliffs of Látrabjarg, we'll see the colony of puffins that inhabit the area. Did you know that it's one of the largest colonies of seabirds in the world?
Lastly, we'll visit the Hnjótur Heritage Museum, where we'll learn firsthand the history and culture of Iceland.
We'll finish the jeep tour by returning to the meeting point at approximately 5:30 pm.
