Activity Details
After picking you up at your hotel at the designated time, we'll set off toward the northern Dominican Republic to reach the town of Miches. Let's go!
After a nice road trip, we'll reach the coast of Miches, where we'll board a catamaran that will take us to explore Samaná Bay. Once we set sail, we'll go to the open sea to search for humpback whales. From January to March, these impressive marine creatures migrate to these Caribbean waters to breed.
As we sail, you'll have the chance to admire humpback whales in their natural habitat, some even accompanied by their young. We'll tell you all about their behavior, from their appearance on the surface to the sounds they use to communicate. Amazing!
Afterward, we'll return to dry land to switch boats and sail toward the heart of the Los Haitises National Park. During this journey, we'll explore its iconic rock formations and small islets emerging from the water, covered in lush tropical vegetation. As we sail through the swamps, home to thousands of birds and other species, we'll tell you about this park's history and the cave paintings on the walls of its caves.
Hungry? After our boat ride, we'll head to a restaurant in Miches. Here, we'll sit down to enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch, including fish, seafood, rice with beans, and seasonal salad, all served with natural juices and soft drinks. Enjoy!
Finally, after revitalizing, we'll begin our journey back to your hotel, where we'll say our goodbyes 12 hours after pickup.
