Discover the taste of the Dominican Caribbean with a rum tasting in Punta Cana and learn to make your own sugarcane juice. Are you ready?
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and transfer you to the Oliver & Oliver Rum House. It is one of the most prestigious rum brands in the Dominican Republic.
Upon arrival, we'll learn about the history of Dominican rum and the Oliver & Oliver company. Next, we'll discover how their products are made using rum aging with the solera aging method. In this technique, barrels are stacked so that the liquid gradually cascades from one barrel to another.
After seeing firsthand how this method is carried out, we will enjoy a tasting of molasses and sugarcane juice. Did you know that rum is obtained from the fermentation and distillation of these products? In addition, we will teach you how to make your own juice.
The highlight of this activity is a rum tasting of four rums from the Oliver & Oliver brand. We'll try a selection of premium aged rums over 25 years, such as Cubaney Centenario, Unhiq XO, Opthimus, and Punta Cana XOX, or other similar rums from the same range.
To accompany this tasting, we'll enjoy a delicious pairing of cheese, crackers, and 70% cocoa chocolate. These products will further enhance the flavors of the rum.
At the end of the tasting, we'll take you back to your hotel, concluding this experience of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This activity only includes pickup from hotels in Punta Cana and Bávaro. For pickups in the Uvero area, an additional fee must be paid on the day of the activity, the amount of which depends on the exact location of your accommodation.
