Does your cruise ship dock in the remote Western Fjords? Would you like to come along and discover the best-kept secrets of the West Fjords? On this tour, we'll explore Dynjandi Waterfall and an Icelandic horse farm.
Activity Details
We’ll be waiting for you right at the cruise ship pier in Ísafjörður as soon as you disembark. Once everyone is on board the vehicle, we’ll drive through the Vestfjarðagöng Tunnel to enter a landscape of deep fjords and rugged mountains that seem to go on forever. You’re going to fall in love with it!
Our main stop will be the majestic Dynjandi Waterfall, the tallest and most spectacular in the West Fjords. Its fan-shaped, tiered cascade will take your breath away. We’ll walk together along an easy trail that will take us right up to the base, where you can feel the mist on your face as you snap the best photos of the trip with the fjord in the background.
After visiting the waterfall, we’ll head to a local Icelandic farm to get an up-close look at life in this remote region. We’ll have the chance to say hello to the friendly Icelandic horses and learn about daily life in the fjords.
To recharge, we’ll enjoy coffee or tea paired with a slice of traditional oatmeal and jam cake, a must-try treat of Icelandic cuisine that will make you feel right at home. What a treat!
Finally, we’ll head back, enjoying the views of the coast and the stories the guide will share about the local culture. We’ll drop you off again at the Isafjordur cruise terminal with plenty of time to board your ship without rushing and with a smile. The entire experience will last about 3.5 hours.
