Activity Details
Meet us at the Upper Gullfoss parking lot at the indicated time, where we'll board a bus that will take us to the starting point of our adventure. Are you ready for this once-in-a-lifetime Langjökull glacier monster truck tour?
For the next 4 hours, we'll journey through the highlands on steep trails that will leave you completely amazed. During the tour, we'll admire this ice giant while learning many interesting facts about glaciers. Pure excitement!
As we go along, we'll notice the breathtaking beauty of the Icelandic highlands. Doesn't it look like a landscape from another world? Wide plains, volcanic formations and imposing ice fields stretching to the horizon—you won't stop taking pictures!
When we reach the halfway point, we'll get out of the monster truck and enjoy the glacier. Depending on whether you take the tour in summer or winter. Before continuing the route, we will have a hot drink while enjoying a playlist of Icelandic music. Can you ask for more?
Once we reach the midway point, we'll hop off the monster truck to try sledding down the glacier. If we're lucky, we may even catch a glimpse of a natural ice cave since the visit to this grotto is not part of the itinerary during the summer months. Before we continue our journey, we'll enjoy a hot beverage while listening to a carefully curated playlist of Icelandic music.
Following this extraordinary adventure, we'll bring you back to the Geldingafell base camp.
Tour Options
Depending on the time of the year, the tour will have several differences:
- Summer tour (from April 16 to October 31): We'll stop at a scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the glacier. Here, you can relax at the on-site café with a hot chocolate, coffee, or tea, paired with a kleinur, a delicious traditional Icelandic pastry. For those looking for a bit more excitement, you’ll have the chance to go sledding down the glacier slopes or even try your hand at glacier golf in this one-of-a-kind setting.
- Winter tour (from November 1 to April 15): During this season, we'll visit a natural ice cave, a true hidden gem within the glacier. Inside, you'll marvel at the crystal-clear ice, ancient layers of frozen volcanic ash, and the deep, striking blue that makes glacier ice so unique. It's a magical winter wonder you’re sure to fall in love with!
