On this excursion from Bayahibe, we'll discover the great charms of Catalina Island. We'll snorkel and explore the Chavón River, film location of the famous movie Apocalypse Now.
Catalina Island & Chavon River Day Trip
After picking you up from your hotel first thing in the morning, we'll board a sailing catamaran that will take us to Catalina Island. Once on the boat, we'll sail to this little piece of paradise for about 40 minutes while marvelling at the piercing blue of the sparkling Caribbean Sea.
Once we've reached our destination, we'll head directly to the coral reef known as La Pared, or The Wall, where you'll have the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing dip in the sea and snorkel amongst the incredible marine life. Spend 40 minutes exploring underwater, before returning to the catamaran and dropping anchor at the dock on Catalina Island.
With your feet on dry land, you'll be taken to a small restaurant with stunning sea views, where you'll be treated to a delicious buffet lunch. With renewed energy, you'll then have two and a half hours of free time to make the most of the paradise white sand beaches. Whether you prefer to relax and sunbathe or try a fun activity like paddle surfing, you'll enjoy an unforgettable afternoon.
Back on the catamaran, we'll approach a totally different landscape. Famous scenes from Rambo II and King Kong were filmed on the Chavón River! The natural scenery will blow you away.
Finally, we'll make our way back along the coastline, spotting the villas of the multimillionaires. We'll end the excursion by returning by boat to the port and dropping you off at your accommodation.
Hotel Pickup
The excursion includes pickup at the hotels located between Bayahíbe and Dominicus. The pickup will be subject to a supplement if you're staying outside these areas (for example, in Juan Dolio, Boca Chica, or the hotel Gran Bahia La Romana).
